Morning Sun

There is a song in Bangla -

"পূর্ব দিগন্তে সূর্য উঠেছে, রক্ত লাল রক্ত লাল রক্ত লাল"

If you translates it into English it could read more or less like - "The Sun has risen in the west, the sky is red, blood red"

Here are the picture I have taken in the morning 6:45 am of 10-Feb-2012

 Pic-1: Blood Red Cloud

What is Economy and how it really works!

This always comes into my mind but never been able to get a wholistic picture of it and that's "Economy".  I always wonder why some countries are very rich and some other countries are dire poor. Let alone countries, a person is very rich and another person is homeless. Let me draw a picture of  an economy of the world as -

The world has limited resources
The price of an item can't be set unless it's scarce i.e. chances of not getting it is uncertain
There is more than one person who are in demand of a particular material
Not everybody is capable of doing everything i.e difference in skills and expertise

So what makes a country very rich -

A country is nothing but a bunch of people in a certain geographic area governed by a set of rules set forth by a group of people.

A country that gets more ownership of the limited resources of the world gets the higher part on the field - so it's never been a level playing field

This is bound to happen that the resources, part of the limited resources in the world, of that country is bound to be diminished in time unless the country takes up more land, which Germany had gone through that action in the WWII, or somehow creates artificial resources like iPad, iPhone, game, software etc.

Why women should wear shorter clothing than Men

I've captured this picture from a red line (subway) ad where the woman athlete is showing on running the marathon with shorter clothing where as the man has comparatively more clothes than the woman. My question is why this is like this - is there any conscious choice made by that woman athlete? Or is this happening involuntarily and with no intention of getting any benefit out of it?

I also see this similar images in the game of Swimming and Tennis; again my question remains the same - What's the purpose?

One argument women may make is that those clothings are attractive and women has this attractiveness in their physical appearance and they should use that asset just like Men show off their muscle or physical strength. I don't necessarily buy in to that argument as when you're in the game of a particular skill, your focus is to prove your strength in that skill set and nothing related to showing off physical attractiveness to attract other people in short, you're proving your excellence in the field say it's athletic sprint or swimming.

So there is something or some invisible establishment that is influencing women to choose shorter clothing even though it's entirely irrelevant.
I'll add more overtime on this discussion

AT&T Customer Service experience

Yesterday I called ATT cus serv to change my post paid plan to pre paid. That was a more than horrible experience

I started the call at around 7:00 am. Through minimal hassle I got it right to the agents and then got transferred to GoPhone. That process took around 40 mins.
GoPhone automated asked my phone number but I didn't have it because I was there to get the GoPhone prepaid (gophone is part of ATT). Then I got a good bye as I don't have GoPh number. Then the real nightmare started.
I tried with 3 to 4 agents, to reach each of them I had to be on hold music for around 10 mins, but they just either put me on hold or transfer to another one not even asking me or cutting the call
Finally at around 9: 45 pm I got hold of a supervisor Chris Savage through Nina and put a official complain but I didn't get any ref # to the complain and I was told that they will research internally and won't get back to me of the outcome. I got to know that I can go online MYATT and file a official complain

Apple walk

Just came from an Apple Walk - okay let me explain it.

After having my lunch or in the afternoon I feel little down (physically) so try to go for a small walk and found that I can kill two birds with a single stone. I eat the apple that I bring to work and get the small walk. So I named it as Apple Walk

What the heck is happening with climate

Today is 8th of January in year 2012 and the temperature is 42 degree. There is no sign of snow fall so far even though in October there was a snow storm but luckily didn't hit Quincy even though in the West it was devastating specially in the week of Halloween. But in my entire life experience in this country I never had this kind of experience that in January you can wear hoody or a full sleeve T Shirts.

I remember in Year 2008, on January 3rd, I came to MEEI at Boston for a Eye doctor's appointment, and I didn't find the address right out of the Red line station at JFK. Wandered around for 10/15 minutes out with enough winter clothings but got fever when got back home and called sick for next 2 days. Later I checked the temperature was 20 degree F. And today on January 8th I'm wearing the jacket with half pulled zipper and no hood. Amazing!

By the way, is this something related to Climate change or Global Warming? Don't want to believe it that the sign would be so drastic and so quick but who knows what surprise is waiting for us from mother nature
