People pulls horses

Last Sunday (10/04/2009) I was driving on the I-95 N while going to visit one of my friend's house. I saw a truck was pulling a small trailer where two horses were standing idle (we know that horses usually don't sit or lie down). This is not quite unusual scenario because it's illegal to take horse on interstate highways and more over it'd take longer time to go to some farm or open fields where they'd enjoy the horse riding. The reason that scene struck my mind was, we know that in the old days horses were widely used to pull car as transportation of people or goods, it's true in some part of the world at present. But the technology has changed our way of life so much that we now pull horses instead of horse pulls us. I'm nothing against that shift change but it just gave me a stimulation of thinking of the modernization and technoligization (new word I just invented!) which puts human in front of animals!
